The series Blood Memories, relates to the subconscious symbols we share, as humans, on the timeline of existence. Beneath the surface a constant internal conversation about ourselves, our icons, and our surroundings marches on, as it has been for millennia. It is my belief that we experience our lives on many different levels simultaneously, just as symbols communicate meaning on many different levels simultaneously. We relate to certain unconscious touchstones and the feelings these touchstones awaken within us – our Blood Memories .

Materials used this series are beeswax, earth pigments, oil, and genuine gold and silver leaf on acid free handmade papers. My methods are those practiced since antiquity. The materials and techniques are a bridge through the unconscious as well – connecting us from centuries past to the modern spaces where they are shown and enjoyed.
