Touchstones appear in this work as universal shapes and the human form. The figures remain anonymous and partial, their context and background giving them form, much like hidden parts of ourselves.
My working materials are encaustic, pigment and genuine gold and silver leaf. The visual alchemy of these materials prove to be both timeless and truly contemporary. Creating art around ideas of shared unconsciousness and the continuity of the human experience finds a natural expression in these materials, having been used in both ancient times and in contemporary work.
